Luminary
This luminary was the result of a design project with the prompt to design a specialized light for a specific setting that was lightweight and hung from the ceiling with an external power cord.
The final piece was constructed out of 1/8 inch acrylic and masonite.
A standard side tube was made initially, then it was mitred and cut to the specific lengths needed.
The luminary pictured was designed to illuminate a residential dining room table that seats four to six people. The form is based off of the idea of two cube shapes that are not perfectly aligned.
