Steel Fenestration System Design
Currently, I work as an Industrial Designer for Wellborn & Wright, a custom steel door and window manufacturer, in Richmond, VA. I design custom units for specific applications and create supporting approval/production documents for in-house fabrication. I am responsible for CAD modeling, hardware compatibility, glass sizing, and the design of new standards and processes.
All information has been created for use and sale by Wellborn & Wright.
I design every steel system from scratch, with the client’s needs in mind.
Attention to detail.
I intentionally design every unit to 1/32 of an inch to ensure the product fits seamlessly into its surroundings.
I create highly detailed production drawings to guide the fabricator through the production process.
These custom packets utilize a familiar layout and flow to make the process recognizable and efficient.
In the final installation, everything comes together.
My careful consideration of each unit’s standard and custom aspects is evident when the installation team undergoes a smooth and simple install.
